The Training

On this course you will train towards ISA Level 1, which allows you to teach anywhere in the world. Included in your training is:
- 5 x 2 Hour Surf Training per a week (In small, Personal Groups)

FAQs
You will receive the ISA Level 1. This Qualification is designed for surf instructors that will be teaching learn-to-surf lessons for beginners and early intermediate level surfers. The ISA Surf Level 1 Certification is the industry standard for surf Instructors at quality surf schools around the world. This is also the most popular ISA Course with the broadest international appeal.
Given that the Qualification is awarded for ISA – International Surf Association, Your Level 1 will be internationally recognised, so you can be rest assured that any country that you can surf in, you can also teach in.
Of course if you have an prior experience it will help, but as long as your reasonably fit, mobil and can swim, we are confident that you enjoy the course and pass with flying colours!
The Surf Lessons will be a maximum of 4-5 people in a group.
There is no age limit to join us on the surf instructor course. There is however a minimum age of 18.
Breakfast is provided daily, and since everyone of our guests is a VIP, you can order the night before, what you would like from a large selection, and what time you would like it for the following morning – a true VIP Experience. So when putting in your order you can make any special dietary requests.
Given the large amount of surf spots in Arugam bay, we are sure there will always be a spot that meets the standard. However, on the small chance no surf spot is suitable, we will utilise the time with dry land training/Theory.
Surf Lesson: A maximum of 5 people in a group, with the same instructor for the whole week, so you can be sure you are improving every day on a personal level.
Surf Class: To make sure you have time to practice alone, but also have someone there to answer questions and give tips, we included 2 surf classes a week. A class is where 20-25 people are given a surf spot and a time, and at the specified time and place there will be 1-2 Instructors that are available for you to ask any questions. E.g ‘Could you watch me paddle into my next wave an give me a few tips on what i am doing right and wrong?’
